New Year New Machine

24th January 2018

Following extensive conversations with our customers we identified a common answer to the question “What else can Drumlord offer?”  The almost unanimous response was for higher resolution parts.  We conducted an extensive review of the technologies, machines and materials available and the clear winner was the Viper.  With the support of the Welsh Government and ERDF funding Drumlord have been able to meet the demands from our clients.  The Viper is an ‘open source’ machine which allows us to combine its ultra-high definition with the very best SLA resins available to produce detailed, accurate and robust parts.

Some key features and benefits include:

  • 0.05mm build layer

  • Beam diameter of 0.075mm at high resolution (standard is 0.2mm-0.3mm)

  • Precision builds of extremely detailed parts

  • Parts with extremely fine detail

  • Excellent side wall finish

  • Highly accurate and thin vertical walls

The build chamber at high definition is 250mm x 250mm x 250mm, for XHD parts this is reduced to 125mm x 125mm x 125mm to ensure maximum accuracy.

The new Viper complements our existing processes yet allows us to offer our clients an extra dimension in amazing high definition parts.  Drumlord are also in the process of trialling a new resin for launch next month.  This new material will not only offer some incredible properties but, combined with the Viper Si2, give our clients an unbeatable combination of accuracy and material properties.

More information about the Viper can be found here.  If you require XHD parts for your project and would like us to quote then please email us or call on 01495 249232.  We’d love to help.
